Landauer Return Label FAQ's

The return label that I received in my envelope of dosimeters looks different and does not list Landauer’s address. Is this correct?

Yes, the new label you received is correct. Landauer recently transitioned to a new mail service. Our new service is UPS Mail Innovations. UPS Mail Innovations is a collaborative service between UPS and the United States Postal Service (USPS) designed to handle high-volume mail and small parcel shipments more efficiently.

How do I prepare my package for return to Landauer?

  1. Secure Packaging: Use the 2-way mailer or cardboard box that the dosimeters were originally shipped in. If you have destroyed or thrown out the original packaging, you can use your own packaging to return the dosimeters to us. However, you must write "Do Not X-ray" on the outside of the envelope to ensure the safe return of the dosimeters. Make sure the package is sealed properly to avoid any damage or loss of dosimeters during transit.

 

  1. Clear Labeling: Use the return shipping label provided to you in your original shipment and be sure to input your return address in the return portion of the label.  Make sure the label is placed flat and securely on the package to avoid any issues during scanning.   • Max. package size 1.0lb weight (up to 80 dosimeters)
  • Shipping expenses will be billed back to the customer's account.
  • After clicking the DHL link, no Authorization or Order numbers are required. Simply select “Other” under the “Reason for Return”.
  • After submitting the return label request on DHL's site, please check your downloads folder to retrieve and print your label.

Which carrier should I use to return my dosimeters to Landauer?

  • If you are using the return shipping label provided to you, you can return your shipment via USPS or UPS.
  • If you are using the online generated return label, you can return your shipment via USPS or DHL.
  • If you are applying your own postage, you can return your shipment via the carrier of your choosing.

How can I track my return shipment?

Use the tracking number provided on the return label to monitor the package's journey. This can be done directly via the carrier’s tracking page. Please note that Landauer does not keep record of tracking numbers for return shipments; it is the responsibility of the customer to keep record of their return tracking number.

Ensure Proper Weight and Dimensions: Make sure the package meets the weight and dimension requirements specified by the carrier.

  1. Flat Mail:
    1. Weight: 1 ounce – 15.99 ounces
    2. Minimum Dimensions: Height: 6 1⁄8”, Length: 11 1⁄2”, Thickness: 1⁄4”
    3. Maximum Dimensions: Height: 12”, Length: 15”, Thickness: 3⁄4”
  2. Parcels:
    1. Weight: 1 ounce – 15.99 ounces
    2. Minimum Dimensions: Height: 3”, Length: 6”, Thickness: 1⁄4”
    3. Maximum Dimensions: Height: 17”, Length: 27”, Thickness: 17”

Remove Old Labels: If you're reusing the original packaging, remove any old shipping labels to avoid confusion.
